Created the Geo_Lab_Fees format, which can be used to update the corporate, office, and project fees for geotechnical test methods stored in the RT_GEO_TEST_METHOD table.
Geotech_refvals Format – New Format with EQuIS Geotech [d14500]
Created the Geotech_refvals format to load reference values to reference tables applicable to the EQuIS Geotech Schema. An example Geotech_refvals EDD is provided to load appropriate reference values for EQuIS Geotech.
Geotechnical Format – Remove Geotechnical Format from Professional and Xcopy Installer [d29261]
The Geotechnical Format (i.e.,
Geotechnical.zip) is no longer included when installing EQuIS Professional. All geotechnical formats are available to download from the
EarthSoft Community Center (ECC).
Geotechnical Reports – New Reports with EQuIS Geotech [d27021]
EQuIS Geotech has numerous standard reports to facilitate project understanding and decision making, assist with project management, and share information with various data providers and/or stakeholders. The EQuIS Geotech reports provide results from industry standard geotechnical laboratory tests and boring activities. These new reports are provided in Dynamic Link Library (DLL) files or are created from functions in the EQuIS Geotech Schema.
Geotech Sample Reports
- Geotechnical Atterberg Limits – Plots the Plasticity Index against the Liquid Limit for each sample result.
- Geotechnical Atterberg Limits 3 Point – Plots the Water Content and the Blow Counts data for each Atterberg Limits readings result and applies a line of best fit.
- Geotechnical Compaction – Plots the Water Content and Dry Density results of a Compaction test on a standard compaction plot.
- Geotechnical Gradation (Hydrometer) - ASTM D7928 – Creates a Grain Size Distribution by plotting the hydrometer analysis results that are in accordance with ASTM D7928
- Geotechnical Gradation (Sieve) - ASTM D6913 – Creates a Grain Size Distribution by plotting the sieve analysis results.
- Geotechnical Grain Size Analysis – Combines the sieve and hydrometer analysis results and plots a Grain Size Distribution.
- Geotechnical Lab Forms – Generates a .zip package that includes a Chain of Custody (COC) and the associated Lab Data Entry Forms for lab tests assigned to the selected sample(s). This report also provides the user with the option to include a Lab Test Fee Summary output.
- Geotechnical Lab Summary – Outputs data for selected fields in a table format. The user has the option to display data from various tables in the database. This report filters the results based on the selected task(s).
- Geotechnical Unconfined Compression – Plots the Stress and Strain reading results of an Unconfined Compression (UC) test.
- Geotechnical Unconsolidated Undrained – Plots the Stress and Strain reading results of an Unconsolidated Undrained (UU) test.
- Geotechnical Water Content vs. Depth – Plots the water content results against depth for all samples in each selected location.
Geotech Field Reports
- Geotechnical CPT Parameters – Produces a graphical output of various calculated CPT Parameters against Depth.
- Geotechnical CPT Parameters Export – Outputs various calculated CPT parameters to a Microsoft Excel file.
- Geotechnical CPT - Pore Pressure Dissipation – Produces a graphical output of Pore Pressure and Normalized Pore Pressure against Depth.
- Geotechnical DMT Parameters Export – Outputs various calculated DMT Parameters to a Microsoft Excel file.
Geotech Function Reports
- Geotechnical CPT Data – Uses raw Cone Penetrometer Test CPT data parameters stored in the DT_DOWNHOLE_POINT_DATA table to calculate and output correlated CPT parameters.
- Geotechnical CPT Dissipation Data – Queries the results of a CPT Dissipation test to calculate the pore pressure and normalized excess pore pressure results.
- Geotechnical CPT Apparent Rod Breaks – Identifies apparent rod breaks that occurred during CPT activities based on sleeve resistance measurements.
- Geotechnical DMT Data – Queries the raw DMT data parameters stored in the DT_DOWNHOLE_POINT_DATA and DT_LOCATION_PARAMETER tables to calculate correlated DMT parameters.
- Geotechnical Lab Test Assignments – Provides a summary of the lab tests assigned to samples within a facility.
- Geotechnical Unconfined Compression Data – Outputs Unconfined Compression (UC) data for selected locations in the appropriate units.
- Geotechnical Unconsolidated Undrained Data – Outputs Unconsolidated Undrained (UU) data for selected locations in the appropriate units.
Geotechnical Project Details Report – Filters data by DT_TASK.TASK_CODE and outputs the project information related to the task.
Geotechnical_v2 Format – New Format with EQuIS Geotech [d11823]
Created new Geotechnical_v2 format applicable to the updated EQuIS Geotech Schema. This format is similar to the Geotechnical format but has expanded capabilities, including the ability to load to multiple facilities and perform additional lab testing.
gINT Export Report – Add Support for CDS File Type [d27585]
Added support for compressed DataSet file type to the gINT Export report.
Schema – Geotechnical – Add Lab-Test Assignment Tables and Fields [d18316]
Added tables to store assignments for samples so that labs know which tests to perform:
DT_GEO_LAB_ASSIGNMENT – Contains general information regarding the lab test assignment.
DT_GEO_LAB_ASSIGNMENT_TEST – Contains detailed lab test assignment information per sample.
RT_GEO_TEST_METHOD – Stores information regarding the types of Geotechnical tests conducted by labs.
Added fields to store lab assignment information:
RT_GEO_TEST_METHOD.ASSOCIATED_FORM – Stores the associated lab entry form for the test method.
DT_GEO_LAB_ASSIGN.LAB_SOURCE – Used to distinguish source of lab (i.e., internal or external).
Note that RT_GEO_TEST_METHOD.EUID automatically populates as this is needed for associating costs.
Schema – Geotechnical – Add Rock Tables and Columns [d19854]
Added tables to store rock information:
DT_AQUIFER_TEST_PARAMETER – Stores additional parameters associated with pumping tests.
RT_AQUIFER_TEST_PARAM_TYPE – Reference table for DT_AQUIFER_TEST_PARAMETER.
DT_GEO_HOLE_SURVEY – Stores survey event data collected when a hole is surveyed, including the company, technician, and date.
DT_GEO_HOLE_SURVEY_RESULT – Stores additional data collected when a hole is surveyed, such as what angle the hole was drilled at.
DT_GEO_MAJOR_STRUCTURE – Stores identified major structure information.
DT_GEO_ROCK_FIELD – Stores geotechnical parameters used to rank rock mass quality.
DT_GEO_TRAVERSE – Stores data for multiple traverses.
Replaced the existing DT_GEO_DISCONTINUITY table to account for rock information. The new table still uses the name DT_GEO_DISCONTINUITY, with the old table renamed to DT_GEO_DISCONTINUITY_OBSOLETE.
Added new columns to existing tables to store rock information:
DT_GEO_BACKFILL – Added TECHNICIAN, INSTALL_METHOD, BATCH_MIX_RATIO, BACKFILL_PURPOSE, ESTIMATED_VOLUME, TOTAL_VOLUME, and VOLUME_UNIT.
DT_GEO_CORING – Added RUN_NUMBER, ALPHA, BETA, SOLID_RECOVERY_LENGTH, GEO_MAJOR_STRUCTURE_ID, GEO_ROCK_FIELD_ID, and GEO_DISCONTINUITY_ID.
DT_GEO_RESULT – Added VALIDATED_YN and VALIDATED_BY.
Schema – Geotechnical – Changed Data Type from DECIMAL to VARCHAR(20) for Several DT_GEO Tables/Fields [d22654]
Changed the data type of the following fields from DECIMAL to VARCHAR(20) to allow for a range of values (i.e., 1-10) instead of just numerals (i.e., 10):

Applying the Geotechnical Schema will turn DT_LITHOLOGY.EUID into a required column that will auto-fill with the latest value(s) from the EQuIS Unique Identifier (EUID) sequence.

Schema – Geotechnical – New Geotechnical Report Functions and EnviroInsite Log Functions [d30339]
EQuIS Geotech uses database functions to facilitate reporting and to generate graphics using EnviroInsite templates (e.g., boring logs, subsurface profiles). The geotechnical and EnviroInsite functions are installed when the Geotechnical Schema (schema.geotech.xme) is applied to the database.
Schema – Geotechnical – New JSON Data Type [d21092]
Added new user-defined data type DBO.JSON_INFO with type VARCHAR(MAX) to the Geotech Schema. Fields intended to store information in JSON format will use this data type.
Schema – Geotechnical – Update Default Values for WORKFLOW_STATUS in DT_LOCATION and DT_FACILITY [d29325]
Updated the Geotechnical Schema default value of WORKFLOW_STATUS to be "NONE" in the DT_FACILITY and DT_LOCATION tables. Added an entry to the RT_WORKFLOW_STATUS table with a WORKFLOW_STATUS of 'NONE' and a name of "None/Unknown status". This replaces any user-defined default WORKFLOW_STATUS value.
To restore a default value, rerun equis.add_workflow for the table and the desired default. For example:
