Format Name: EFWEDD
File Name: EFWEDD.zip
Source: EDP Standalone, EQuIS Professional, and EQuIS Enterprise
Export(s): EFWEDD Field EDD and EFWEDD Lab EDD
Note: Exports will not work as expected if the data were imported using a different format, as each format has different mappings, checks, etc. |
Description: The EFWEDD format, also known as the 4-file format, is a standard format that is suitable for most labs. The format offers two different sections for sample information (choose either Field or Lab), a test section, a results section, and a batch section.
Installation Instructions: The EFWEDD format is included in the installation of EDP Standalone and EQuIS Professional in the \Formats\EarthSoft folder. This format is also installed with EQuIS Enterprise and is configured (by default) to be available in the Enterprise EDP EDD Upload widget. The default configuration settings should be reviewed and modified to meet user needs (see the Add or Modify Enterprise EDP Formats article). The default commit type is Insert and Update.
Overview: The EFWEDD format contains two different sections for sample information (choose either Field or Lab), a test section, a results section, and a batch section. To load new data into the database, a blank EDD (Electronic Data Deliverable) of the format can be generated. Click on the Home tab and select Blank EDD in the Tools group.
Columns in the EFWEDD format use different tables for their reference value lookups. The EQuIS EDD Description file includes which tables are used for the reference value source. Create the EQuIS EDD Description file in EDP or the Enterprise EDP EDD Upload widget.
Limitations/Assumptions: The checks and mappings in any EDD format involve assumptions. The following are assumptions and limitations for the EFWEDD format.
•Test Alternate Key (TAK) for the format: The format uses SAMPLE_ID, ANALYTIC_METHOD, ANALYSIS_DATE , FRACTION, TEST_TYPE and COLUMN_NUMBER fields in its TAK.
•EFW2FSample section typically is populated with field generated data. EFW2LabSMP section is typically populated with lab generated data. For any single sample in a single EDD, populate either EFW2FSample or EFW2LabSMP, but not both, since both sections map to the same database table.
•Dilutions in the EFWEDD format may be handled by changing the TEST_TYPE from 'INITIAL' to 'DILUTION' or any identifier that works for the data. Please note that a record for the identifier would first need to be added to the RT_TEST_TYPE table.
•If records exist in a child section, then there must be a corresponding record in the parent section. For example, a record in the EFW2LabTST (TST) section must have a corresponding record in either EFW2FSample or EFW2LabSamp (Sample) section. If the record in the Sample section does not exist, then the record in the TST section will fail to load.
For custom checks, please see the EDD Description File.
