How Can Water Level Contours Account for Surface Water?

EnviroInsite draws contours based on measured water level values. Typically, these would be measured values at wells or peizometers. In the case where a water body is the surface manifestation of the water table, virtual data points can be added in the contour dialog box to force water level contours to the elevation of the water body. This same method may also be used to control contour values in areas with no well-derived data.

Select the contour object to edit and go to the Virtual Points tab. Click on the Add Point button and click on a point along the surface water body (e.g., river). When the dialog box returns, enter the water level of the water body in the Z column. Repeat the process until sufficient points have been added along the length of the water body to force the contour line to follow the water body. These virtual data points will be used in generation of the contour object.
